Hi,
More and More EU Demands
09-Jul-2021
Dear Friends and Supporters,
The past two weeks have seen a number of developments following Brexit, however, nothing tops the announcement by the EU Commission last night that they expect the UK to pay a total of £40.8 billion as part of the so-called ‘Brexit Divorce Bill’ agreed in the Withdrawal Agreement. This is an increase of nearly £2 billion on the original estimates made by the UK Office for Budget Responsibility. What makes this hike in demands somehow worse though, is the fact we could all see it coming as soon as Theresa May conceded to paying a ‘Divorce Bill’ in the first place. The EU will continue to try and demand more and more money at every opportunity, with almost no logic behind their demands.
This bill was issued by the EU’s Court of Auditors which has continually failed to fully audit the EU’s accounts for decades, ignoring swathes of errors and millions in missing Euros every year. How is this body authorised to try and demand billions more from the UK when they cannot even get their own accounts correct? It’s a fact the EU’s accounts have never ever been fully signed off, so why should we accept their auditors’ figures now, unless they go back 26 years to prove what they have already taken from us – and we have paid in good faith – is accurate?
To make this even more laughable, in the past 2 days the EU has both issued and then written off over €1.1 billion in fines to German car manufacturers for breaches to emissions standards. This proves the EU clearly doesn’t need the money from the UK if they can afford to forgive and forget these debts to German companies. Or as is more likely, the EU continues to see the UK as their ‘Treasure Trove’ which can cough up more and more money whatever their demands.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson must seriously challenge this huge increase and tell the EU they are getting no more money than was originally agreed – come what may. This cannot be up for debate because as with so many other areas of negotiations with the EU, if we simply succumb to their demands, they will keep on trying the same tactics time and time again. This is UK taxpayers’ money and it should be spent on OUR priorities now, not paying for Federalist-inspired EU projects.
Before I go on, as I have said before, Get Britain Out will try and carry on with our fight to deliver a Real Brexit for the entire UK for as long as we can. However, we cannot do so if we cannot pay our bills. Very sadly, donations are dropping off. We have never charged a membership fee, but we do need financial support. As you can see, Brexit is far from over and the EU will not give up their fight to undermine the UK as is clear.
It’s so important to keep up the pressure on the Government and give Brexiteers a loud voice in Westminster.
In our last e-Bulletin we said there were suggestions the UK and the EU would agree a 3-month delay to checks on chilled meats, such as sausages, entering Northern Ireland from Great Britain. We can confirm a delay has now been agreed – but only for 3 months – so the fight is still not over and this raises more questions about the intention of the Government to properly resolve these problems. It’s about time Boris really pulled his finger out to fully resolve the situation once and for all, and keept to his promise of tearing up all the EU’s paperwork if they try to insist on a customs border in the Irish Sea – otherwise he is clearly letting down the people of Northern Ireland – which is still part of the United Kingdom.
This problem does not just apply to sausages however. Despite the EU making some concessions on medicines equivalence 2 weeks ago, a number of pharmaceutical companies have confirmed they will have to withdraw the supply of hundreds of drugs to Northern Ireland, including some cancer treatments, because of restrictions created by the Northern Ireland Protocol. In what way is this ‘postcode lottery’ acceptable, with UK Citizens in Northern Ireland not given access to the same treatments as anyone else in the rest of the UK?
In addition, Jewish residents in Northern Ireland are currently unable to access their Kosher foods, inexplicably due to the restrictions imposed by the EU as they need to import these foods from the rest of the UK. This is an utterly disgraceful situation where yet again the EU has effectively been able to place a border inside our own country. It’s about time we said NO to the EU, and if they want to take the blame for putting a border inside Ireland (part of the EU), UK goods can enter Northern Ireland without having to endure these Customs’ checks.
Reports suggest Lord Frost wants to resolve the issues over the Northern Ireland Protocol in the next 2 weeks, but we have seen both EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and the man responsible for negotiations with the UK, EU Commission Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič, make multiple statements where they refuse to acknowledge the need for the EU to be flexible in negotiations. Instead, they choose to continually lay the blame for any problems or mistrust at the feet of the UK, and demand we abandon our independence to accept EU regulations. We are now Out of the EU, and we MUST Take Back Full Control!
Frankly, it seems we couldn’t be further away from reaching an amicable deal if we tried. However, I am thankful deadlines are finally being set to help focus everyone’s minds. Now we just have to wait to see if anyone actually sticks to them.
We must not forget though, Northern Ireland is not the only country which has been left abandoned in the Brexit negotiations. Gibraltar, unlike the other UK Crown Dependencies and British Overseas Territories, is not included in the Trade and Cooperation Agreement the UK has with the EU, and as a result faces many of the same struggles as Northern Ireland. The reason for this is because Spain threatened to veto the entire Agreement if it included Gibraltar, and as has become the norm, the UK Government rolled over and accepted their demands.
The UK and Spain are now required to come to a separate agreement – specific to Gibraltar – where the Spanish Government has already been clear they will try to force the UK into accepting more Spanish control of ‘The Rock’. This should never have happened, and now it’s more important than ever for the UK Government to hit back hard against any demands from Spain and the rest of the EU. The people of Gibraltar do not want to be part of Spain and these wishes must be respected.
At the very least the PM now seems to be waking up to the failures of his negotiations. This week he confessed there were a number of areas which need correcting – especially in the Northern Ireland Protocol. However, as we have seen in the past it seems Boris is very willing to make statements calling for changes, but when it comes to delivering, he doesn’t seem willing to do the detailed work to get things done. After all, it was the PM himself who said there would never be a border down the Irish Sea – well evidently, he wasn’t reading his own deal if he has only just noticed the problems! Let’s hope he proves me wrong here and we finally see him getting his act together to sort out this mess – and soon!
Some brighter news now. The past 2 weeks have seen yet more ‘Project Fear’ stories completely undermined. Firstly, we had Nissan confirming over £1 billion investment into their Sunderland plant, with the Chief Operating Officer of Nissan describing Brexit as a huge opportunity. Secondly, Vauxhall confirmed they will be creating thousands of jobs at their Ellesmere Port plant.
Both of these have only been possible because of our Leaving the EU and the new State Aid programme being introduced, which allows the Government to contribute investment to these projects. These are contributions which would have been illegal if we had remained inside the EU. This is certainly a better use of the £350 million a week written on the side of the Brexit bus, which the PM has even said he believes was an underestimate of just how much money we will be reclaiming now we are outside of the EU. Well, if we want the full benefit of this, then we need to repel the EU’s latest demands for more money.
In the City of London there has also been good news. London has reclaimed the top spot for Europe’s share trading from Amsterdam, meaning despite the EU trying to curtail the UK’s top position in this market, companies would still rather use skills and expertise in London than risking sub-standard EU offerings.
Back in Europe, the fight to undermine the UK and our push to break away from Brussels continues. The EU is now claiming they won’t recognise certain batches of the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine because they were made by the Serum Institute in India, and as a result were not recognised by the EU Medicines Agency. (FYI, you would like to check the details about your jabs – either on the NHS App or on the details given to you when you had your jabs – the batches deemed not acceptable at the moment are numbered – 4120Z001, 4120Z002, 4120Z003). This is despite the batches being approved by the world renown UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). We all know if the EU wants to fix this issue, they could easily do so by simply looking at the UK data and recognising our decision, but of course this isn’t in the interest of the unelected EU bureaucrats, so instead millions of Brits will be left in limbo about whether they will be allowed to enter certain EU countries.
While the EU continually tries to find new ways they can try to punish the UK for Leaving, in Westminster we are finally seeing some action from the Home Office over illegal migration into this country, with the new Nationality and Border Bill passing through the House of Commons and now entering the House of Lords. The Bill will make it easier to crack down and imprison illegal immigrants crossing the Channel, as well as those who smuggle them here. On top of this, the Home Secretary, Priti Patel, is reportedly trying to set up a system where illegal immigrants are relocated to processing centres outside the UK once they have been arrested and held in custody, with suggestions of Ascension Island in the Atlantic, or Rwanda in Africa (where Denmark currently send their illegal immigrants). We have been told so many times our immigration system was going to be fixed – well now it’s time for Priti Patel to finally deliver on those promises. Failure to do so would frankly be unacceptable after so long.
Best wishes from Jayne Adye, Campaign Director – and my Team at Get Britain Out.
P.S. As I have said previously, your ongoing support is so very much appreciated. I wish I could personally thank everyone who has helped us with donations, but we still need more help if we are to continue – as many donations have unfortunately stopped. So please don’t forget to donate to the campaign if you can. There’s lots more to do to complete the important outstanding issues – as you can see above – and to achieve the Real Brexit we need to be free from the shackles of Brussels.

With an avg. 1.2M voters per MEP & Britain with 16% of EU GDP and 13% of the EU’s population yet having only 8% (if united) say, whilst holding less than 3% of the various offices within the EU Do note The EUropean Parliament has no ability to make policy and has a Commission of unelected bureaucrats, thus clearly the EU is not even a pretence of being a democracy despite its protestations!Do note that many senior apparatchicks and even elected politicians speak openly of the ‘Post Democratic era’ with no sense of shame or irony and in complete contempt of the so called electorate – yet The EU & many of its vassal States/Regions are all too willing to slaughter people in Sovereign States, to impose The EU’s chosen brand of democracy on them! Now as President Junker announced in his ‘State of the union’ speech 2017 the aim is to create an EU military force and centralise ever more of the decision making and control!
The imposition of a Government and policies upon its vassal regions such as the peoples of Greece shows just how far from being a democracy the EU is.
Just follow the recent EU display of so called ‘Democracy’:
France and the Netherlands voted against the proposed EU constitution in 2005, only to have those votes ignored.
Ireland voted against ratifying the Lisbon treaty in 2008, but then later under pressure & threats had to change its mind.
Greece for me was the final straw. It became clear in 2015 that it didn’t matter which way the Greek people voted. The birthplace of democracy had become its tomb. That was enough. I was going to vote to leave the EU when the chance came.No political party of any significance in Britain took active steps to achieve a Referendum – the task was eventually taken by an Indipendent West Midlands MEP Nikki Sinclaire who personally launched and funded the gathering of a petition of 225,000 signatures delivered to Parliament via Downing Street, thus forcing a debate in the House of Commons on an IN/OUT Referendum, which led to David Cameron’s first consequential rebellion.
It was due to winning that debate, officially opposed by every party including Ukip that David Cameron was forced to include a promise of an IN/OUT Referendum in the Tory Manifesto at the next General Election. The rest is history & despite no Parliamentary Party backing the OUT vote & Government spending Millions of Pounds of public money leafletting & promoting ‘Project Fear’ to try to persuade the British people to Remain just as they had at the first Referendum in 1975 – This time their lies and threats were not heeded and in the largest vote in British history Britain voted by a clear majority to Leave.
Nikki Sinclaire’s OUT result left Cameron & his co conspirator Osborne with no option but to resign, sadly some of the other traitors have remained to try to hinder progress to BreXit, aided by their corrupt allies in the EU and \eu funding and bribes!
There will be little or no change in Britain’s economic position, if we leave the EU, using a better negotiated, customised & updated version of the ‘Norway Model’ as a stepping stone to becoming a full member of the Eropean Economic Area, where all will benefit, as we secure trade relations with the EU’s vassal regions, with an EFTA style status and can trade and negotiate independently on the global stage, as members of The Commonwealth and the Anglosphere.
This is of course dependent on a modicum of intelligence on the part of Britain’s politicians and negotiators but it also requires the integrity of Parliament to uphod democracy and the integrity of EU politicuians & apparchicks to act ethically and without their normal vindictive mallice.
I believe Leaving the EU will be turned into something of a rough ride by the ignorant and the corrupt but I have no doubt that in the long run Leaving the EU will prove conclusively to be in the best interests of Britain and our true allies. I also believe that Britain leaving the EU will prove to be the catalyst to great changes within the EU and hopefully its democratisation as without great changes it is indubitably doomed.
Do not overlook the fact that politicians have plotted and schemmed since the 1950s and we have actually been vassals of the EU, when it was still using the aesopian linguistics and calling itself The Common Market in the early 1970s, a name the bureaucrats arbitrarily changed to EUropean Union in the early 1990s as they worked towards their long term goals of an ever closer centrally controlled Political and economic Union with its own anthem, currency, flag and rigid central control by its self appointed bureacrats towards a new Empirate –
It will take many years to rectify the mess our political class got us into and we have no other peacefull means by which to extricate ourselves than to depend on that self same self styled elite, who all too often forget they work for us!
One huge benefit of BreXit will be that we can negotiate with bodies like the WTO, UN, WHO, IMF, CODEX and the like, directly, in our own interest and that of our partners around the world, in both the Commonwealth and the Anglosphere at large; rather than having negotiations and terms imposed by unelected EU bureacrats and their interpretation of the rules handed down, as if they were some great achievement of the EU’s!The greatest change and benefit will be political, as we improve our democracy and self determination, with the ability to deselect and elect our own Government, with an improved Westminster structure, see >Harrogate Agenda<.How we go about the process of disentangling our future wellbeing from the EU is laid out in extensive, well researched and immensely tedious detail see >FleXcit< or for a brief video summary CLICK HERE
