Hi,

below you will find an advertisement placed by a consortium of media editors under the banner of ‘In Facts’, aimed clearly at putting together a team of writers and cartoonists to manufacture news items as propaganda in support of Britain remaining a vassal of the EUropean Union.

It is all starting to look ever more like the utter con of the last Referendum on EU membership – no doubt there will once again be a team of Civil Servants and politicians, EU staff and EU based companies meeting with editors and journalists over breakfast in expensive hotels funded by the Government to decide the days media agenda and place relevant lies, letters and articles to undermine the democracy of these United Kingdoms and corrupt the EU Leave/Remain Referendum.

We always warned that the only weapon the Remain campaign would have would be dishonesty and FUD (Fear Uncertainty & Doubt).

These are the very reasons why these united Kingdoms will be best served distanced from the politics of the EU and its inherent corruption and endemic lack of democracy or interest in the well being of British peoples and world trade.

Clearly there is little intefrity in the media and here is a bunch of charlatan editors who aim to make the news rather than honestly report it – They bring shame on their colleagues in the media!

InFacts is hiring

InFacts is hiring three writers and one graphics artist to work in Central London for the duration of the European referendum campaign.

InFacts is a journalistic enterprise making the fact-based case for Britain to remain in the European Union. We are founded by a group of editors who believe it is in our interest to stay in the EU despite its imperfections. We are pushing for a referendum campaign that is not marred by inaccuracies and twisted logic. InFacts aims to set the record straight when it spots such errors, while making a positive case for EU membership based on research and argument. Most of our rebuttal is focussed on those who want “out”, but we don’t shirk from directing fire at those who want “in” when they stray too.

Hugo Dixon is InFacts’ Editor-in-Chief. The other founding editors are: Bill Emmott, Will Hutton, Geert Linnebank, Sebastian Mallaby, Annalisa Piras, Michael Prest, Alan Rusbridger, Victor Sebestyen, Yojana Sharma and Alan Wheatley. InFacts aims to launch its operations in January.

If you are applying for one of the writing jobs, you should also write a story rebutting a claim relevant to the referendum campaign made by a public figure. It should contain the following elements:

• A headline no longer than 50 characters including spaces
• A summary no longer than 280 characters including spaces
• The story itself, which should be no longer than 400 words. The article should be clear and succinct. It should include links to the claim you are rebutting. It should also include links to any facts you are using as part of your argument.

If you are applying for the position of graphics artist, you should also produce a cartoon, animation, infographic or short video taking issue with a claim relevant to the referendum campaign made by a public figure. It should contain the following elements:

• A headline no longer than 50 characters including spaces
• The “graphic”

Pay will be competitive and based on experience. We aim to conduct interviews in the week running up to Christmas.

Three writers

Job

• Prepare a news list in advance of the 8.30am morning meeting
• Keep on top of the news flow via broadcast channels, papers, social media etc throughout the day
• Suggest story angles for research, and errors by prominent eurosceptics that need rebuttal
• Research stories
• Write concise, rigorously accurate articles
• Engage over social media to promote our stories and rebut the errors of others
• Push out a daily newsletter to email subscribers
• Be available to work on stories at weekends and in the evenings on an ad hoc basis. Will get time off in lieu.
• Senior member of team will be responsible for organising rotas.

Requirements

• Knowledge of Brexit debate
• Good research skills
• Numeracy
• Economics degree (ideal not necessary)
• Clear and succinct writing style
• Confident telephone manner
• Journalism experience (ideal not necessary)
• Experience with graphical presentations (ideal not necessary)
• Fast worker and good at hitting deadlines
• Experience promoting and ideally engaging with people via social media

Graphics artist

Job

• Generate ideas for graphics either a) to accompany articles we are writing or b) as standalone items that can go viral
• Produce cartoons, animations, infographics, charts/other graphs, videos
• Engage in social media to promote our graphics

Requirements

• Adept at producing all types of graphics
• Creative/good at generating ideas
• Witty
• Knowledge of Brexit debate (ideal not necessary)
• Journalism experience (ideal not necessary)
• Fast worker and good at hitting deadlines
• Experience with making graphics go viral (ideal not necessary)
