Tory leadership: Brexit means Brexit

There is not much to fault with Theresa May’s speech:

First, Brexit means Brexit. The campaign was fought, the vote was held, turnout was high, and the public gave their verdict. There must be no attempts to remain inside the EU, no attempts to rejoin it through the back door, and no second referendum. The country voted to leave the European Union, and it is the duty of the Government and of Parliament to make sure we do just that.

Gove was less impressive, offering only “in the next few days” to lay out his plan for the United Kingdom. But behind Gove is the poisonous Dominic Cummings: the two go together. That is not a happy choice.

I must say I applaud Boris Johnsons common sense move to avoid the embarrassment of a humiliating defeat as a man one may wish to give a job to, on a tight rein, but not a man to be trusted having so frequently been proven to lie. It is also questionable just how hard line a Remainer he was as it was clear that he Dominic Cummings, Matthew Elliott & others in the Leave Campaign were not trusty allies of those who actually wished to leave! Already willing it seems to sell out for their own ambitions!

Then we have Liam Fox who has over many years failed to shine or show leadership qualities and his actions relative to his personal adviser a few years back were not just an abuse of office but clearly in poor taste! Behaviour which I believe, like that of David Laws should have precluded him from holding public office ever again.

Stephen Crabb with his clear lack of experience compounded qwith his extreme and arcane religious beliefs espousing the ‘curing’ of homosexuals must surely render him unsuitable for any public office in this more enlightened world even as part of a team.

Then finally Andrea (who) has anyone heard of her, can they remember any achievement of note beyond her bravura performance in the Wembley Debate – sorry but although I am sure she is a very pleasant woman just what expertiswe does she bring to her claim to lead the Tory Party and be our Prime Minister, though I am sure she will prove a great assett in a future Cabinet that Theresa May leads.

Personally I am suspicious of Michael Gove, a view reinforced by his questionable judgement in joining the Vote Leave which will for ever more associate him with his old adviser Dominic Cummings who I consider worthy of trusting as far as one can kick him. Matthew Elliott is no better!

As I cautioned, during the BreXit Campaign, I believed that Vote Leave was nothing more than a device for data mining with a vbiew to mounting a palace coup to put their man in control of Downing Street – that Michael Gove and his cronies have, we understand, stolen the data base of mined information from under the nose of Boris Johnson adds conviction to my warning!

That Dominic Cummings & Michael Gove have worked closely on previous issues I incline to the opinion that it was always their intention to place Gove as the front runner having ridden on the populism and undeniable intellect and media platforms of their rival Boris Johnson – When the leaked memo from Sarah Vine was added to the mix one can only speculate but that that was a part of the tactics within their strategy I have little doubt!

I appreciate that politics tends to be a dirty business but in putting himself forward in the manner he has done I believe Michael Gove has precluded himself other than in a functionary role.
